How long will it take to get the title for my vehicle back?
It can take anywhere from 6-12 weeks to receive your title back from the Sec. of State. If there is a problem in the system possibly longer.
How much does it cost to obtain a buyer's number at Clinton Auto Auction?
Clinton Auto Auction charges a one time fee of $5 for new customers to obtain a bidder number. There is no fee if you have previously registered and attended an auction at our facility. All you need is a valid drivers license. Registration begins at 7:30 AM auction day on Saturday and after 9:00 AM on Wednesday.
Can we check out the vehicle prior to the auction?
Yes, you are encouraged to do so. Our office hours are 9:00 - 4:30 M-F and the gates open at 7:30 AM on auction days so you are more than welcome to come and check out a vehicle, you just cannot take them outside the gated area.
What does "Absolute" mean?
There is no minimum selling price required. It sells no matter what.
What is IST or VUT?
IST is a dealer consigned vehicle and is subject to Illinois Sales Tax.
VUT is consigned by a private owner and is subject to Vehicle Use Tax
How can I pay for my purchases at Clinton Auto Auction: Cash, or Credit Card are acceptable payments for purchases. All tax, title and plate payments must be made in cash or credit card.
How do I sell my vehicle at Clinton Auto Auction? To sell your vehicle at Clinton Auto Auction you must have the title, title must be in your name, and a $20.00 check in fee.
When Can I bring my car to sell it? You may bring your car to Clinton Auto Auction to sell on Monday - Thursday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Wednesday you may bring your car to the auction as late as 5:30 PM. Friday of auction week Clinton Auto Auction is open from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM to accept vehicles to sell. On non auction weeks Clinton Auto Auction closes at 12:00 Noon. Saturdays that are auction says vehcles are accepted to be sold from 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM. You can always call our office and have a member of our staff assisst you on times.
